Hitchens was an iconoclast in every sense of the word, but he lost me about ten years ago when he went from being a bomb-throwing liberal to beating the drums of war in the middle east. He must have felt somewhat vindicated by what's happening over there now.

What's truly sad is that he didn't live long enough to see Henry Kissinger put on trial. I was also amused at how he turned the typical end-of-life story on its head by vigorously embracing atheism even as he was staring death right in the face.
